Medically Disqualified ? Experiences

My son just got his waiver! I really appreciate all the advice I got on this forum. I will be putting deposits down on Plan B anyway. I hope I can pay back the favor in the future.
Be the voice of calm in future cycles as the annual OMG tenor of posts ramps up.

Glad the waiver came through.

My son has his last doc appointment ( I think 😀) on Wednesday. I can't wait to feel your joy 😀.

It took around 20 days from the DODMERB DQ letter to approved waiver decision. We proactively sent in a personal statement, and even scheduled and took my DS to specialists to prove that he didn’t have the DQ conditions (in case the waiver got denied). Thankfully the waiver decision came in before the appointment was needed. Depending on the medical opinion needed, a specialist appointment can be months out!

Indeed. That is our issue got the DQ a while ago. Took two months to see the specialist. We passed. Thought we were done, but they said we needed one more appointment to fully complete the test. Two more weeks.

My DD is an a 2027 appointee but we are working through the medical waiver process due to some very mild injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident. Her status in DodMERB currently state "Disqualification Rebuttal/New Medical Information Required" They haven't asked for any additional medical information at this point. Has anyone dealt with or have experience with the "rebuttal process?" I can't seem to find information on this anywhere.

Hello

My DS had braces and currently has a permanent retainer. Does anyone have any insight if this will have any effect on his medical qualification?
