Hello, for the past two months it has been like pulling teeth to get a remedial processed by my designated DoDMERB worker. I had to contact the workers supervisor multiple times in order to get responses and information regarding my remedial. Finally it was all worked out and I was deemed qualified Wednesday after almost two months of waiting. Friday USAFA processed my medical status and updated my portal. How does this affect my appointment opportunity knowing my application should be reviewed either this week or relatively soon due to the May 1st signing day? Has anyone had a similar situation. I am a college re-applicant and have no LOA but 3 nominations, it may also be beneficial to state that I’m from a small state (WV).

Does every applicant with a medical disqualification receive consideration for a waiver? NO
In general, they save these reviews for the most competitive of applicants to reduce the amount of wasted effort on the medical community.

To recap - you have not received a TWE. GREAT!
You were considered for a waiver and received one. GREAT!

All good signs that your application is making its way through the process. Several stops along the way could have yielded a NO by now and that did not happen - GREAT.

It is a positive, but not a definitive YES. If the school was not interested, they could have stopped at Med DQ.

DD was granted a waiver Mid Feb and we have heard nothing since. Being granted a medical waiver just means you can now be considered for an appointment. We took the waiver as a good sign that USAFA considers her a good, competitive candidate so we are just waiting. The waiver definitely does not guarantee anything. Like the previous post said- they have had several places to say no and haven't so you are still in consideration! That's a good thing for sure.

Similar situation, waiver granted on Tuesday and waiting for next step. Fingers crossed
