Hey everyone. I made an appointment to meet with the NROTC Unit at the college I want to go to. I was wondering how I should dress. Should I wear nice, church clothes (Slacks and blouse) or would jeans and a nice shirt be good. I'm also wondering if I should act strictly professional or is it okay to be polite/respectful and act like myself. Sorry if these are stupid questions I'm just really wondering what they are looking for.

dress like job interview

1st - what school? is the CO a Marine or Naval officer? I only ask because showing up in a Dbl breasted Navy suit with brass buttons if Naval would come across as a tad much

2nd - in your shoes I'd wear your church clothes and take along a nice leather portfolio as your only accessory

3rd - iF your dress shoes can be shined, please do so

we sent our daughter back to VMI to interview with following:

Navy Blue blazer
Khaki dress slacks
shined black shoes low heel
white silk blouse
simple pearl earrings
black leather portfolio with plain gel ink pen (no fancy pens or jewelry)

if others are reading this (guys) adjust above formula for male equivalent with tie, black shined shoes and no jewelry

** DO NOT WEAR HEAVY SCENT OR PERFUME

make sure to have pre-addressed Thank You note cards with stamp that you write and drop in mail same day as you interview as sign of professionalism

Best wishes!

University of Missouri. Well its not an interview, really. It's more of like he is going to show me around and give me information about the program and if he thinks I'd be a good fit or not. I'm pretty sure he's Navy.

Proper attire would be business casual. Polo shirt and khaki slacks for a guy or something similar for a gal. To my knowledge midshipmen are expected to be attired in collared shirts while in the ROTC building. You should do the same.
