Does anyone have any tips on how to mentally prepare oneself for the challenges of USMMA? Thanks.

The whole thing is a test to your endurance and will to serve. Never give up. If you feel like going home then that's just part of the test to see how much you really want this and if you quit, you failed the test.

Of course, there is no shame in quitting if you figure out you don't really want the end result but don't quit because of the present (time at the academy) only quit if you change your mind about the future (what you will owe after graduation).

Don't take it personally! By definition a Candidate or Plebe Candidate requires correction. There is no right answer. Let it roll off your back and just keep plugging along.

the best way to prepare yourself is as KPmum said.
YOU ARE ALWAYS WRONG. regardless of what you think you know, you know nothing. be prepared to be screamed at for absolutely no reason whatsoever. it happens. also, know that you will be put on your face and made to do push ups over the most trivial of things.
realize that the upperclassmen don't actually hate you, regardless of what they might make you think. it's all just a big game. play along.
remember that they don't hate you, it's nothing personal, and that every one of us has gone before you and had to do the same thing and it makes it easier.
