mental troubles

....and that type of answer, my friends, is what will get you tagged at USNA as a "sea lawyer". The only thing worse than sea lawyers are indecisive plebes and helicopter parents.

To the original poster, Ratrat, and Navy 1987:

If you find me one young man or woman who is not somewhat stressed about giving away a large portion of their freedoms for the next 10 years for any cause, you will have found me someone of great ignorance.

To the original poster, lashing out at people is not the best way to relieve stress, but as long as you have noticed the issue and are looking for a solution, you are doing good.

SEA LAWYER, n. One who attempts to shirk responsibility or blame through trivial technicalities. [This word is used chiefly in the Navy and at the Naval Academy to describe a midshipman or officer who uses technicalities and other trivial excuses to escape responsibility or punishment. Based on the popular stereotype of lawyers always arguing technicalities and trivial details coupled with the fact that the Navy is closely associated with water and the sea. ]

Hm...no one said anything about the law or military regulations...just that the original poster his going through normal emotions. He probably is just experiencing a case of advanced late stage senioritis laced with fear and anxiety. Not everyone gets that combination specifically or to that degree, but totally normal. Not sure what all the name calling is about for clarifying an "lol" that was definitely misunderstood...
No, you're not missing a thing.
Cheers...

Ah, thank you sir. I was a confused and a little concerned that I had missed a few posts and it legitimately seemed like I was laughing at the idea of an incompetent leading men into danger instead of at the line "I didn't know the great nation of Oblivia had a Navy"

Back to posting of a helpful, positive nature...
