MEPS vs. DoDMERB

I don't know the process for separation of an officer who lied. On the enlisted side it's called an FE (fraudulent enlistment). Depending on the contract, bonuses, time served, etc, we kick them out and recoup costs of training. When attempting employment, people have to answer two questions:

Have you served in the military?

Were you honorably discharged?

Most likely it would be a general discharge for an FE.

Are you saying they may go after the ~$400k for the USMA education. Would they also try to recoup specialized training like Airborne?

I doubt it. I can see someone owing 50k...ish.

Army2021... I didn't mean rank as in paygrade. I mean it as in a symbol. to me, it's a symbol of how far I will have gotten. You know what I mean.i just want to find any possible way to at least put my foot in the door to show that I'm not dysfunctional like my paper says.

How on earth does one NEED to be in the military? You SERVE your country based on the needs of the service.

To quote someone pretty smart...the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
You NEED to serve your country when all you think about is preserving freedom and the PURPOSE that comes with it. Don't hate because you don't understand- it can actually be quite difficult to comprehend. Just knowing you can overcome bootcamp and lots of things. Even outrun your past

***I'm waaaayyyy to busy to follow this string helping applicants. "IF" there's a question in here, use the FAST sticky under the DoDMERB tab and send me the questions :wiggle: *** I will answer tonight AFTER the POUS/ WH Task Force briefing about to begin shortly:bang::wave:

There are many ways to serve your country. I think @AROTC-dad's post was a reference to that. One doesn't NEED to serve in the military to survive, or to serve their country. Certainly your comment about "don't hate" was out of line if not a violations of the forum rules.

You've been given 2 good suggestions:

1. Contact the ROO at the college you plan to attend, since you already know which college that is, and discuss it with them. Most people here will be unfamiliar with how your unusual circumstances would normally be handled. This is a good approach.

2. Mr Mullen suggested you contact him using the instructions in the FAST sticky at the top of the DoDMERB forum. Mr Mullen thoroughly understands the whole waiver process and no doubt can provide great insight, especially if you don't want to discuss it with an ROO for whatever reason.

I don't think you will get better suggestions than these. I suggest you pursue one or the other, or both.
