These really aren't questions that a current Midshipman, or their chain of command can answer. If you are contemplating applying to the Naval Academy, I would suggest reaching out to Admissions directly, with all details, and ask them whether it is possible to get admitted. with this history.

From the nature of your questions (i.e. how long do records stay, or will another branch know...?), it appears that you would like this to stay under the radar. If you want to have any chance of serving, you have to OWN the problem, it cannot be hidden or covered up, and the long term consequences of lying, either directly or by ommission, are far more serious than the act itself.

Hello. What was your over all GPA and your SAT/ACT score? Also, what is the best way to prepare for interviews with your Congressman/Senators and BGO?
 
Question regarding scholarships: My accepted D has received a couple of small local scholarships. How are these used USNA?

You have to look at the terms of the scholarships...I've been to many HS awards ceremonies, and it is not uncommon for my USNA Appointee to be the star in his/her small school, and run up a pile of these scholarships. I think many scholarships will allow them to be used for books (which get quite expensive). Midshipman actually "pay" for their books through their "funny money" account , so they can often use their scholarship money to offset that cost.

See post #48 in the Handy Links thread. There is probably an updated version of the annual USNA Midshipman Budget Book, but there will likely be few changes. It addresses how and which external scholarships can be applied.

Soon USNA should send out Permit to Report packets soon and those instructions will be outlined which will help pay off your DS's ACE Loan

Yes! There will be chances to walk on to any team at the Academy during sports period. You'll have a brief over the summer about how it works for each individual team.

Personally I know quite a few as I'm part of NESA and it's known that it helps you with the application. But as said above no one cares if you are an eagle scout once you arrive.

So I personally do not remember my high school GPA off the top of my head, but I got a 1360 on the SAT. To prepare for interviews, think about what questions you expect them to ask you and prepare for what you want to say. For example, why USNA, what makes you stand out from the rest. Along with that make sure you project confidence when you answer. Each rep does their interviews differently. So ask around from people that applied from your area and ask how your local reps conduct their interviews.

Looking to get my future Mid a graduation gift. Is there anything I should know about what's acceptable for a smartwatch? Color, size, what features really come in handy, how much can a Mid use it in year 1?

The official wording is that it can't be "faddish or eccentric and must be in good taste." I personally use a black apple watch and I'd say most mids use Apple or Garmin watches when it comes to smartwatches. As for plebe year, your future mid will be able to wear it right after plebe summer ends.
 
Have you ever heard of a midshipman from USMMA or any SA for that matter, transferring to USNA after their first year and starting over? Thanks In advance.
