I am a current candidate for USNA and USAFA c/o 25. Both applications are completed (but working through a medical DQ), all nominations applied for, and I have so far received a nomination from my MOC to USNA (my first choice), JROTC to USNA, and Presidential to USAFA. My AFJROTC instructor informed me last week that the paperwork for the JROTC nom to USAFA would be submitted shortly by my school principal.
When I asked USNA Admissions about my nomination status with the Presidential/JROTC, they said that they had received both packages, and could only award me the JROTC nomination out of the two. Is this standard for other academies, mainly USAFA? Since I already received the Presidential nomination to USAFA, can I not be awarded the JROTC nomination, or would I be awarded that over my Presidential? Why can't a candidate such compete in both slates, if he/she qualifies?
