I don't fully agree. The tyranny of small numbers makes it high risk for the individual and as a result it impacts 'the Nation'. We can discuss on PM if you would like. Compare NRMP vs Military Residency Match Statistics for examples.

USUHS does fill a need though.
 
Actually, since this an area that I am researching, I don't feel the need to consult with anonymous parents on a webpage, but thank you for your kind offer of support. Compare HPSP and USU longevity statistics and cost. Also see the recent paper by Kellerman et al. that values med school payback looking at multiple funding options.
