MMI or Northwestern Prep

I may be a little biased but I'd highly recommend NWP. I think I can speak for anyone in the Class of 2019 and say that if given the choice, we would absolutely repeat the program all over again. In fact, most of us wish NWP had a second semester so we could continue the Magic on the Mountain. šŸ˜

I'm well aware of the potential advantages MMI offers, including better financial packages, transfer credits, and military training. However, when I looked into both programs, I felt NWP would help me strengthen my application AND better prepare me for success at USAFA. there's a strong emphasis on teamwork, attention to detail, and discipline from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. You'll learn how to memorize quickly and efficiently, how to time manage every moment of your day, and how to truly learn material, not memorize just enough to pass a test.

To me, these benefits outweighed the benefits of a few extra credits from one more semester of college, or the benefits of learning (Army, I believe) drill and uniform wear. There's a reason why 2/3 of the Falcon Foundation students choose NWP; the program works and the Academies know it. I'll be heading to I-Day with 40-50 of my closest friends in June and can't thank NWP and the Durbecks enough for all they have done for me.

Yikes! Iā€™m sure there is a very simple explanation for the delay in your call back from NWP. In addition they do offer scholarships once you apply that helps with the expense. Our DD would not have traded her year/semester @ NWP for anything. It was an amazing experience.
(Keep in mind that this is the off semester and NWP is run by a retired couple, so in their off time they sail and travel around to the academies various senior programs.)
I called at least 5-6 months ago at least 4 different times and left a message each time... Iā€™m very glad it worked for your child...but I am not impressed.
