MO NROTC 2nd board results

Just got an update in my portal, so I'd imagine you'll hear soon. Not selected but that's my own fault for deciding to go for it so late. Time to start my college program applications. Good luck!
Curious what did it say exactly?

Sorry for the bad news guys. I haven't heard anything from the DS yet.

Any idea how easy it is to get accepted into a NROTC unit without a scholarship?

Hold tight everyone. The USMC portal is very slow to load and finalize. It sounds like results are coming out - let the process finish before you come to any conclusions.

I'll keep checking my portal. Still going to submit my college program applications in so I can try to get a spot at NSI.

I believe it depends on the unit, but it should be a lot easier than getting a scholarship. Mostly meeting minimum requirements and maybe an essay and interview.

Correct - joining a unit is not very difficult. Once you get there, bust your ass in the classroom, be a stud at PT and be a leader...That will set you up for a side load. There are also campus based scholarships as well as the PLC route for those wanting to commission.

The university my DS wants to attend mentioned in-state tuition for ROTC students. I have yet to figure out if that applies to only scholarship recipients as means to reduce the cost to the Federal Gov't/Tax Payers or that was offered to all ROTC unit members. Not having to pay out of state tuition would be a huge financial benefit for him.

That is a huge deal. I know Texas A&M and a few others offer that. Bottom line is there is a lot of money out there to help educational costs for those that want to commission. Good luck

I'm confused by this...are you saying that the portal saying "your application was not selected for scholarship" doesn't mean what I think it does?

Still anxiously waiting for the results of the final board selections for FY 23 Marine Option. Has anyone been contacted yet or know when the results will come out?
I was in the car with my son an hour ago and he got the call that he was awarded the Marine Option NROTC Scholarship. He had already received the AF ROTC. He kinda knew a month ago that it was coming based on a phone call he received, but it actually happened today by phone call.

This is an example of what the portal should transition to as the results come out. My point was that there may be an intermediate change in the portal prior to the winner status being posted. Sorry for the fuzzy image, but usually the schools are listed on the winner screen. This example was from 2017 - so things may have changed.

I believe it means not selected period because of the wording. Not too sure though.
Have you been notified via email or call from the recruiter? Just curious...the netfocus application page (red background) has no status change for us and no email or recruiter call. The blue NROTC status website looks like yours. So my DD is still holding out hope that it just means she didn't get a Navy scholarship but still waiting on the Marines. I think that's doubtful but didn't want to discourage her...told her to call her recruiter. I'm sure they know.

My suggestion is call your coordinator for final word. The USMC portal is notorious for being messed up.

What does this mean for MO-NROTC (portal change a few days ago)?
