Hello all and thanks for reading my post! I received two nominations from the Honorable Joe Heck here in Nevada; one for the Naval Academy and the other for the Air Force Academy. When the election came around, sadly Mr. Heck did not win. So since then, I have been trying to contact someone on the status of my notification, but since he is out of office, his office is closed! I tried to contact someone at the office who took his districts place (The honorable Jackie Rosen) but they also have no idea on the status of my nomination either. My nomination is still valid right? I would think and hope that someone else has found themselves in this situation before. Thanks for your time, and god bless!

Does the Nomination show up on either of the Academies online portals? Your nominations should still be valid since he submitted them to the Academies before his term was up.

My congressman, who retired, gave me nominations for both USNA and USMMA. Even though he retired, they both still showed up on their respective online portals.

Yeah it shows on both of them. So that covers the validity part of it right? Thanks!

You are good and you nominations are valid. The outgoing MOC submitted their slate prior to the new MOC taking office.

At least for USNA an exiting MOC submits their slates by 12/31 vice 1/31. This ensures they are submitted before their departure and will be the states for that year. They will show up on your portal.

Thank you 5Day and NavyHoops! I appreciate the clarification? I'm assuming theres no way to find out my status until I either get a TWE of BFE right?

Generally, the academies will contact the current MOC and notify them when an appointment offer is to be made, even when the nominations were submitted by the previous Member. This gives the MOC the opportunity to make the appointment notification to the candidate. The notifying academy then posts the appointment in the candidate's online portal a few days later.
