Has anyone heard anything about sign ups for Mock R Day this year? I volunteered last year and was hoping to sign up as a volunteer again this year, but haven't seen or heard anything about registering for it. Anyone have info on it yet?

Friday rehearsal is June 24, 2011. Go to the USCC Webpage to register. How was rehearsal last year? What did they do?

What is "USCC" website? Could not find it (that had any bearing on this post)?

Go to www.usma.edu, and click on the Comm's link on the right of the page. The first thing on the left once you are on the Comm's page is a link to the United States Corps of Cadets (USCC) homepage.

You (volunteers) are "pretend" new cadets for the day. You arrive, wait in line, and then get shuffled into the arena for the speeches, directions from superiors etc, pretend to kiss your Mom goodbye and off you go! You do tons of walking...pretend to get sized for your uniform, pretend to get your haircut at the barbers, actually learn to march, report to the cadet in the red sash etc. It's an exhausting day, not for the meek or easily insulted, but we had a blast & loved getting a real taste of what "R" day is all about. Spending time at the end, getting to know the cadre and relaxing with them (and having them apologize for yelling at us) was the best part! Highly recommend it!

R-Day Rehearsal - class of 2016

This year's USMA R-Day rehearsal is now taking volunteers. The rehearsal will be Friday, June 29 from 9:30 - 1:00. Sign-up and details can be found at www.usma.edu
Candidates from class of 2016 cannot participate, but if you will be in the area early, family may sign up. I highly recommend it!

Make sure after June 29th you all post the particulars of the run-through!

I'm sure many CC's (myself included) would love to hear as much about the schedule as possible!

I'd rather go in blind, not knowing what to expect :thumb:

BillSL you have the right attitude! Part of the fun is the unknown and the ride that goes along with all. I would tell you to enjoy the experience, but that first day is full of every emotion you can think of. Regardless of what people post on here or elsewhere, until you walk out there with all the emotions of leaving your family, reaching your dream, and the nerves it cannot be replicated anywhere, but actually doing it for real. Good luck!
