Also looks like the moderators over there have FINALLY stepped in to get the Naval Academy forum back on track. All I can say to that is it is about time.
(You can read some of the recent posts over there to learn more about that.)
Not only is the serviceacademyforums.com extremely active, but the USNA component of it is the most active compared to the other service academy sites. Do more students attend the USNA than the other academies? or perhaps a personality difference???!
Actually, no more students at USNA. I think people checking out this forum found some really good advice from parents, a number of BGO's who post, etc. Word gets out, y'know!
I can't speak for USAFA but USMA does an excellent job of getting information out and answering questions. West-Point.Org is an organization that sponsors several list-serves that include prospective-net, plebe-net and parent-net. These are monitored by experience parents, alumni and liason officers.
They also sponsor the parent forum for USNA so those of you who will be plebes or parents of plebes know that mom and dad can get information there as well.
As far as movies go - what's wrong with Operation Petticoat? Fantastic movie!
IMO - Top Gun was just annoying. Bleh.
