Mrs. degree at USMA and USNA ?

Show me a 2LT making $70K and I will marry him/her. Why am I still buying things for her? At that rate she should be giving me a stipend.:shake: At current rates a 2LT under two is about $35K. Maybe they figured medical and housing? She did meet a great guy at TBS.:thumb: They both clean up pretty good after you scrape all the mud off.

More like $50k to $60k with BAH.

funny, but very shallow article

Most of the SA Grads I knew who married another SA Grad in the first four years got divorced. No real hard and fast facts to back that up....just my observation.

Now if these same people had been in for 10-15 years or were on their second marriage, then I observed them working out well.

Now my only advice on the topic of Marriage.....

Find someone smarter than you....It has worked out extremely well for me. :shake:
VERY shallow. Even my mom who tunes me out when I get on the SA topic laughed.

It aint $70K at Paris Island for single 2LT with BAH. I need some refunds.

An O-1 living in NYC will be making 75K. http://militarypay.defense.gov/mpcalcs/Calculators/RMC.aspx

I'm pretty sure this article was written to elicit humor based on the "Officer and a Gentleman" sterotype rather than as a piece of hard-hitting news, but I still want to point out one not-so-small distinction:

Just because a female meets her husband at a service academy does not mean that is the reason she went there in the first place.

Tpg, my O1 friends are/were making higher BAH down in San Diego than my O2 BAH. It probably is close to the rates you saw!

TPG:
Daughter is Adjutent with Headquarters and Service Batallion. She loves Beaufort (Boooofort as different from NC pronunciation). She took me to the graduation ceremony last friday. Impressive. Marine Band played "Nothing Could Be Finer Than To Be In Carolina" and I think I was one of the few who got it. She would love to buy a house there. Apartment is about six minutes from main gate.

Exactly. It is so ridiculous. I sure have gotten a good laugh out of it.

Has it occurred to any of you that the article didn't say that attending USMA is a great way to find a husband, but rather it said USMA is a great place for your future husband to have attended? Big difference. Plenty of guys marry civilian girls. In fact, most do.
It's interesting how the author switches between saying a school produces good men with attending a certain school will get you married.
