MTFs to Complete Remedial

I've already emailed Larry Mullen on this issue, but I thought I'd ask anyone here if they had a similar experience.

I don't know if it's just my circumstances, but Concorde is taking a really long time finding a doctor to complete my remedial. When I have a looming deadline and two issues I'm trying to clear, I'm starting to get nervous that DoDMERB won't have enough time to review my file should I get the test done later than in the next few weeks.
I considered taking the second option available to me in the remedial, allowing me to complete tests at a Military Treatment Facility. However, upon calling the nearest (and fairly large) MTF, they really had no idea what to do with an academy applicant.
They sent me to this website, Tricare Healthnet, and asked me to click on the link labeled "Providers". When I entered my circumstances and location, it found almost a dozen clinics in the area that could perform the test.
We called those clinics, but they didn't understand what we were trying to do.

Do I have any other options? Did I approach this wrong? Or should I just wait for Concorde to find a doctor?

My son had to get 3 different vision remedials done and it was required that one of them be done at an MTF. We are in GA, so we were fortunate to have a few to choose from. I did a google search for MTF locations, then google mapped a number of them to figure out which one was closest to us. I called them and had to speak to a couple of different people before I got someone who understood anything about DoDMERB remedials for a Service Academy. Actually, that was only after I asked for the direct number for eye exams and I called the EENT Clinic and they knew exactly what I was talking about and were very helpful. Thank goodness, I called to confirm everything the day before we were going in because I decided to check that they could definitely perform each of the required tests and discovered that they didn't have the machine for one of the tests. After a few calls, I discovered that an MTF 3 hours away could definitely perform all the tests, but the big mistake is that we were told we didn't need an appointment and we should just show up. Thank goodness they were really kind and squeezed us in - told us that the regular vision test for DoDMERB doesn't require an appointment, but if you need other vision tests that take time, then you do.

Two things about an MTF: you and your son/daughter must each have ID with you, and some of the people there had no idea about DoDMERB and kept telling us we had to have a Military ID to have an exam there. Try and get through to the correct medical department and they might know what you're talking about, a lot better than the receptionists and people who make appointments. Take your remedial letter (and a lot of patience) with you. You will have to be registered in their system before you can have any tests done, so make sure you plan to get there really early and ask where to do that (we had to go to another building within the Military base). We were expecting a long day - which it was, but everyone was wonderful and the lunch we bought in the hospital cafeteria was delicious and very cheap! It sounds a little crazy, but other than the initial phonecalls (trying to get someone who understood anything about Service Academy DoDMERB remedials), it was all relatively stressfree.
