My DS has received 4 nominations for Annapolis: Deceased and Disabled, Both Senators, and his Congressman. Two Questions:
1. Can my DS still receive the Presidential, or is it Deceased OR Presidential?
2. Does having 4 nominations help his chances with Annapolis?

Your DS has more than enough noms, no worries there. All it takes is one, but having more than one does give USNA flexibility down the road. Should they offer your DS an appointment, they can choose to charge the appointment to one of those nom sources, and possibly be able to offer an appointment to another candidate who only has one nom from one of the non-elected rep nom sources. That is my best understanding of the process. There are many moving parts as USNA works to build the class.

If DS has nom and is triple qualified, nothing pending in DODMERB, his only task is to ensure Plan B et al are ready and wait wait wait, possibly to May or occasionally beyond, to see if a USNA appointment is offered.

Thank you, Capt MJ. I appreciate your response.
My DS has completed all parts of his application, his file says that he is complete, pending review.
He has no pending issues. He is qualified medically, physically, and academically. Is this triple qualified?
His plan, as you have suggested, is indeed, is to wait.
Does the Deceased/Disabled nomination really increase his opportunity? Are there any statistics regarding chances based only on this nomination?
Am I accurate in the following? 300 nominations, 65 charged, 16 +/- receive appointment?
Does the Deceased/Disabled nomination "trump" the Presidential, or is he eligible for both?
Yes, I have read and read, but I have not found solid answers to these questions.
Thanks, so much!
Have a GREAT day!

I am sure you have read this. If your DS wants to pursue a Presidential and has questions, he can call for clarification. I always read that one as the parent was living and was in one of the noted categories, but I don't work in Admissions.

I am sure others may be able to offer insight on your other questions.

My DS has received an appointment to USNA. We are so excited! His dream since he was 6. We don't know what endorsement was used. Does that matter? Also, for this group, I see a list of persons selected. Is there a particular thread on which to post?

Congratulations! Or, "Bravo Zulu" - Navyspeak.

The nom source doesn't matter.

If you are looking where to post this great news, look for USNA Appointments Class of 2021 (roughly) on the USNA forum. Copy and paste the list to a new post, add the next number, organize your news in the same format.

Congrats SeaLegs on your DS USNA appointment!

Here's additional info: According to our USAFA instructions, if you have a nomination under children of diseased veterans, 100% disabled veterans, veterans in missing or captured status, you will Not be considered in the Presidential category. It also says there is no limit to the number of nominations but appointments in this category are limited to 65 cadets at USAFA (so 65 in each of the other SAs).
