Hello everyone, I recently accepted an offer of appointment to USNA and wanted to share my experience just in case it may help someone else out in the future. I applied to both USMMA and USNA and was offered both appointments. I have a Track and Field Varsity Letter, am the XO of my JROTC unit, scored a 1310 SAT and 31 ACT, and got medical waivers for each academy. The most stressful part of the process was definitely my waiver process, as it was out of my control completely. My issue was Myopia exceeding +-8.00 Diopters, and I am not making a statement regarding the chances of obtaining a waiver but rather encouraging people that some medical waivers do get granted and not to be scared away by the daunting DISQUALIFIED on your portal. You are still in the running. My only advice is to start early (I started preparing to apply near the end of my junior year) and stay on top of things. Overall, it was definitely a challenge but a rewarding one at that. I hope this helps someone.
