My AROTC Application Status Just Changed :)

I do not understand why some would have it and some would not either. My son's #1 college is a small, private college. So, I would think if they have the information, everyone would!:smile:

We were told that the official letters will be mailed from Cadet Command on November 19.

Ya I just found out I got a 4 yr Army ROTC scholarship to Texas A&M University or Oregon State University

Someone asked if they updated the results all in one day. I'm not sure. Last year, the scholarship site was actually just taken down while they were updating statii, but evidently that didn't happen this year.

PS-If anyone got an offer to Wheaton, let me know!

Mine changed also! (I've been looking at this site for months and this the first time I've been able to give input!)

DS on-line status changed to go to DodMERB site. If that implies that he has been awarded a scholarship, how does he know which college ROTC program he got accepted into? Does he have to have been accepted by the individual college admissions office in order for that info to be determined? We're a bit confused,

mdad: You will receive a letter from CC that will list which AROTC Battalions your son has been approved for. Eventually the AROTC scholarship site will also list the schools. He does not need to be accepted into his colleges to be approved by CC, however he will need to be accepted by the college admissions people to attend the college (a separate process).

I know the feeling:smile:but hang in there.
We did not find out until July (got campus scholarship) and ds is thriving and being successful at his first choice school. (told us he got a 297 on his most recent PT):smile:

We didn't find out until July either. I look back at the waiting that started with the 1st ROTC board last year, through different issues with the Reserves and basic training all summer, and realize I was in training for all the 'waiting' the Army puts you through (the soldier and their family.) Unfortunately that's how this works, and you can't do much about it. Take a deep breath and don't let it drive you crazy.

just checked my status after countless anxious hours trying to figure out how to check my status: and it also reads "You may check your medical qualification status by visiting the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board DoDMERB WebSite"
So does that for sure mean I got a scholarship?

Haven't seen anyone yet with that message that didn't get a scholarship. :wink:
 
Good Advice on this Board

Checked in today for the first time in a while and noticed a lot of action in the ROTC section. Looked at the Army ROTC threads and noticed a lot of talk about status changes on the ROTC website. Checked in and saw that my son's status changed also.

After some more reading on this board I saw the advice that my son should call his top-school battalion, that they probably know whether he received a scholarship. Son called his number one school and they congratulated him on winning a scholarship.

They also said that they were planning on sending letters out early next week and make calls, but since he called...

So, no reason to be concerned if you have not heard yet.
 
Anyone get notified today? Will they notify any more people this week? Still havent heard anything, so Im assuming I didnt get accepted this board :/

I would not make that assumption. As I said above, my son only found out because he called his first choice school. They said they had not planned on sending out letters until next week.

Agree. My son's status changed Monday. No call until today. LTC left message on phone about wanting to talk to my ds about attend their University on an AROTC scholarship.

But my status hasn't even changed yet. Is it possible to still get the scholarship without the status change?
 
Still Waiting.....ARMY ROTC

My son has a 3.6 GPA, 1200 SAT, top 12% in his class, VP Student Government, Varsity Basket Ball, and Football, Youth and Government Rep, and has done many community projects including a 10 day mission trip to Haiti. His status still shows "Interview with PMS" Does this mean he did not make this round of ARMY ROTC Scholarships? He has had his application completed since late August....Any input would be helpful...
