My daughter is appling to the USNA and USMA. We were all for navy since the summer seminar (and I grew up in Baltimore), but when West Point called and sent her a LOA she is now hoping for USMA. She is apply for NROTC and does have a backup college if things do not work out.

This forum is great. We just had she practice nomination meeting with retired navy officers and another friend and I used the questions found in this forum.

Has she visited USMA yet? With an LOA she can do an overnight visit - if possible she should definitely go.

She should definitely schedule an overnight visit at USMA. Go to http://admissions.usma.edu/default.cfm and click on "Candidate Tours USMA" at the bottom of the page to set up a visit.

We are going next week. She will get to see if this is what she wants. My husband and I are trying not to over encouarge since this is a big commitment.
