A few FACTS here:
1. DoDMERB always tries to get to YES. That is our primary stimulus.
2. DoDMERB is charged with being the honest broker = evaluate the exam and history results, in accordance with DoD standards.
3. ALL, SA/ROTC waiver authorities try to get to YES, if possible. Their overriding principle is: can the applicant be trained, commissioned, and be worldwide deployable. ( good thing I reread my response before sending — it changed deployable to “deplorable
“)
4. Though some parents disagree in the short term, there can be NO intellectually honest, say again NO INTELLECTUALLY HONEST, disagreement, with
https://DoDMERB.tricare.osd.mil, “Questions about the Process,” paragraph 4.
5. Parental Teaching moments? YES.
6. Parental Action moments directly involving the application process beyond the obvious? NO. I see these from Parents, rationalized from benign to the extreme, 20 hours a day, 7 days per week!!! As a result, some applicants are ill-prepared for what lay before them, whereas, they could have been very successful.
7. *** Since 12:38 PM yesterday, I have NOT received an email at
DoDMERB_SAFORUMS@yahoo.com, from any applicant, with a scenario remotely similar to this thread. Until I see the real details, all else is pure speculation, rumor, or theory.
