Sometimes you just have to sit back and say whoopee! Quietly, of course. You don't want to jinx anything here, but it's okay to be relieved (and scared) a bit.

I’m not gloating, I’m just happy for him and everyone understands it’s not a guarantee. I posted it because why else be on this forum? Posting good , bad, questions or advice is the purpose. We can be excited for a day.
Oh, I think it's great. You may have had the wrong impression, from my post?
The LOA is such a rare thing, there's nothing wrong with wanting to shout it from the roof tops. It's a huge relief (and a real good indication that he will receive a Full-Qualified Offer of Appointment) I don't envy him however. Sometimes that wait for a nomination can be excruciating, since it may not be until December.
Fingers crossed.

The twists and turns from LOA to appointment for our DD were such that I said I wouldn’t let my guard down until those doors slammed shut on Bancroft on I-Day......that specific memory still gives me goosebumps.

Congrats! Yes, take a moment to breath and celebrate. That said, the time from my DS' LOA until he could hit the Accept button in the portal, AND then again the time from that until Bancroft door slammed shut on IDay... Oof! I was so nervous. I do not envy you the stretch between now and next June!

Nomination is the only thing left, fingers crossed...
CONGRATULATIONS! Exciting time for your son and your family! Well done!

Is it an email LOA letter or a physical letter or does the status change in the portal from Complete, Pending Review?

It was an email notification of the LOA and the status changed on the portal from “complete pending review “ to “conditional offer of appointment LOA”

Do you mind telling us the reasons you think he might have gotten the LOA, SAT scores, Academics, etc?

Also when did he submit the application?
I really don’t have an answer for you. I knew he had a strong application and everything else to go with it , but so don’t many applicants.
He completed his application 7/25

Awesome! Congrats and enjoy it. Your kid earned it and mom and dad deserve to bask in this wonderful news.

We, along with our DS, are truly learning what patience means. LOA received almost 5 weeks ago (August 15th). Our home was in celebratory mode for several days - but soon realized just how far away we are from when any nominations are announced in December (or later). Congrats noclist314!
