Would you mind sharing some of her stats?

Nice to see! Well done.

FWIW, on another point, getting “stats” on an LOA receiver is a tiny peek with one squinted eyeball through a narrow aperture with varying light, and can be crazy-making.

When this cycle is done, there will be frustrated candidates with no offer of appointment, who had a higher class standing, or better SATs, or higher GPA, or more AP courses, or _________, than candidates with LOAs or appointments in hand, who chose to share their stats. LOAs are given for many reasons, which may or may not be related to a “stat.” There can be many elements of a candidate’s application that are not expressed as a number. It is a fruitless exercise - as I said, crazy-making.

I will take an a different approach to sharing stats that might be more productive esp. for future classes.

There is no national champion of would've, could've, should've. When it is time to apply and you contact your BGO, ALO, FFR, etc. and you ask them essentially how do I look and what can I do? You should be expecting this: "No, you don't need to do anything else. GET IT IN, GET IT IN, GET IT IN!" Meaning, you've done everything you can and have nothing left to improve so now go and get your application done!

Your goal is to have no Yes But posts. Yes but no sports, yes but no leadership, yes but my GPA is low and on and on. Everyone is going to have an archilles heel and you may not max on every element but strive for it. There is only one answer to yes buts: Your competition did. Or you're the Iditorod guy.

I would propose that candidates take “stats” typically shared as a ‘benchmark’ of sorts...the base. It’s all the other stuff outside of the “stats” (intangibles) that therefore matter most, and are impossible to measure, gauge or compare.

Looking at posted stats is useless. Everyone basically has that base.
Generally, everyone will have good gpa’s, high class ranking, good standardized test scores, sports, and leadership. Think of this as the base of the pizza. The same recipe.

Then you add all the different toppings...those change. And depend on the individual. Your essay. How you interview. Competition in your state. Targeted demographics. Allowable waivers. Other things only admissions can know or gauge. As you can see, it’s impossible to measure or predict all these kinds of things.

So, to me, looking at the “base recipe” is a fruitless effort. Because everyone has that basic recipe. It’s all the other “toppings” (including bacon...) that cannot be gauged, guessed, ‘chanced’ or measured that make up the countless different outcomes that no one can guess.

There simply isn’t any way to “guess” or accurately compare what your outcome will be.

We, along with our DS, are truly learning what patience means. LOA received almost 5 weeks ago (August 15th). Our home was in celebratory mode for several days - but soon realized just how far away we are from when any nominations are announced in December (or later). Congrats noclist314!
Congratulations! Well done! Exciting time for your family!

Hi! I just became 3Q after my DoDMERB was updated on Friday, which means that I have completed all of the requirements that my LOA is contingent upon. How long did it take for USNA to change your LOA to an official offer of appointment? I'm probably just being impatient, but I have not been able to find the time frame on this forum.

I'm wondering this as well!

IIRC, the offer of appointment came two to three weeks after the 3Q for my son.

I suspect it has more to do with internal work charging candidates and the time frame isn’t set in stone.

For my DS, LOA received 8/15 with only condition being a nomination. Nomination received 11/19, then portal changed to official offer of appointment on 12/2 (so 13 days later, but that does include Thanksgiving week). His Representative called him on 11/27 to let him know that he would receive the offer through his portal on 12/2, and they were 100% correct.

Did he receive a BFE as well?
