Hello,
I just finished my Freshman year of high school. I took 3 honors courses (Honors English 9 pre-AP, Honors Math geometry 3-4, and Honors Lab Bio) I also took AFJROTC (where i became the Junior Varsity Unarmed Drill Commander [winning a trophy in my first drill meet, winning my first drill down, and beating our varsity team once] Also, i became the NCOIC of info-management; pledged and joined the Kitty Hawk Air Society [which is reserved for the top 10% of all AFJROTC cadets world wide, after completing the pledge program] along with being the highest ranking freshman for 3/4 of the year.) I play lacrosse, finishing off a winning season (we went 6-4, 3 of the loses were in over-time, 1 loss was by one point) as a middi/attack. My final GPA of the year was 4.0 weighted, with A's in all of my regular classes, and B's in my honors classes (my school is very competitive, with a high number of students taking honors courses). This summer, i am also volunteering at a local airplane museum, and doing Summer Leadership School for AFJROTC.

What should I do to improve my ability to get in to the academy?

I can not join Student Council, as my schedule does not have room; nor does my lacrosse team offer "captain" positions (our coach doesn't like them). My lacrosse team is not a school sport, as no lacrosse teams are school sports that i know of in Arizona, but i will be receiving a varsity letter for Drill Team.

Thank you for reading this; and ANY advice would be most appreciated.

I'm just going to say that on this forum, we have given up trying to "chance" people. There's too much that's factored into the Whole Candidate Score (WCS) when you actually apply. Grades, test scores, leadership, interview, not to mention you need the nomination. I'm just going to say that it looks like you are ok in standing for the leadership portion as long as you keep it up, keep with the advanced classes and keep up those grades.

Some of the yahoos on here will try and tell you that you have "20.10%" thinking that they're funny. I'd say you have more closer to 20.13%!

well if he just finished freshman year though it's more like a 20.16% chance

haha, so i have to start figuring out how to get back at the 2013 class, got it =P
