I've received a phone call from my RC this morning that USMA have not granted a waiver for my high myopia due my "progressive dry eyes" symptoms that could lead to increased risk for retinal detachment. This came as a shock to me, for I have never been diagnosed by my family optometrist for any symptoms of dry eyes, nor has there been any mention of it on DoDMERB.
At this point, I know that my chances are very slim and getting the waiver authorities to reopen my case is a long shot; however, has there been any documented cases where a final disqualification status have been overturned with additional information?
