Son's application has been complete for months.

Doc's full release for shoulder DQ sent to DodMerb on Dec 13th.

DodMerb site has shown pending waiver review by both USAFA and USNA for several weeks.

Today, DodMerb site still says pending waiver review, but under USNA it also says subagency NALOA.

Does anyone know what this means at this stage?

Thanks

I believe it means your son will soon receive a Letter of Assurance. This means that, assuming he clears medical, passes the CFA and receives a nom, he will be offered an appointment. It has nothing to do with his medical status.

My understanding from going through the same thing: NALOA

USNA: NALOA = He is "in" with an appointment if he has a medical problem and gets a Medical Waiver and/or Medical Qualification change based upon DoDMERB status review of the Doctor's new submission of medical records and "No Longer Medically Disqualified" status by DoDMERB. Don't know the exact nomenclature. That would be after submission and review of subsequent medical information clearing him for full appointment. Good Luck. It is a nightmare with a DoDMERB hanging over your head. Also depends on Nomination and pass CFA. You need them all.

If you need help with DODMERB and haven't already done so, contact Larry Mullen. Check the DODMERB forum for info.

Thanks for the reply. Son has complied with all DoDMERB requests in early December. Mr. Mullen was a tremendous help through the entire process.

We are now waiting for USNA medical to make a decision on the waiver.
