As far as I know the waitlist has yet to budge recently. Sure has been quiet in here. Hopefully everyone gets resolution soon. I mean school is out for many right nowโ€ฆincluding my DS. This needs to be resolved so preparations can be made either way.

I would love to see lots of movement in the right direction this week! My DD is still waiting on a waiver approval so it's a double whammy! good luck to your DS!

Good luck to your dear daughter. Son is still running, exercising, as if he will be there on i day. Would be a great motivator to receive the good news. Of course if the TWE hits, thatโ€™s a whole other life lesson which he will react to as a man has to.

I asked my DD to check her portal and sure enough, the waiver denial posted! ๐Ÿ˜ข She hasn't received an email or TWE. She had an LOA, so it hurts but she got into her first choice civilian school and an RTOC scholarship opportunity presented itself recently, so she'll be fine! Sending positive vibes to the rest of the candidates sitting in limbo!

I'm so sorry. However, she will bloom wherever she is planted! Plans to re-apply?

What was she disqualified for?

When my sons decision comes down May I handle it with the grace and maturity displayed by you. The individuals posting on this forum have time and time again convinced me that America and humanity still existโ€ฆ.irregardless of what is displayed on social and the mainstream media . Am confident your daughter is cut from the same cloth and will achieve great things.

Thank you, she absolutely will! I don't know if she will re-apply. She wants to serve so commissioning will be just as amazing post-ROTC...I guess we'll see.
It's so easy to lose sight of all the various paths to commissioning, when focusing on one. I know your DD will find her own right path, but of course we always want our kids to have the experience they're aiming for specifically!

What was she disqualified for?
Asthma and/or two intestinal surgeries before her 7th birthday. She's a three-sport athlete and she has never had an asthma attack or been hospitalized, etc. We knew before she started the application process that it would be tough but I've always taught my kids that it's better to get a "no" than to wonder "what if" for the rest of your lives. God put her through this process for a reason and the lessons learned will remain with her forever.

aww thank you! Rejection hurts, but it's life. Her second plan A is solid, so I know that she will be just fine. Once she finalizes the ROTC scholarship we'll just have switch allegiance to the Army lol. You and your DS will be just fine! Our kids are a lot more resilient than we think! Best wishes! I'm praying for all of the candidates still waiting!

Absolutely! USNA became her top choice after an amazing experience during the Inspire weekend, but ROTC will be just as fulfilling. And, now, she can actually pursue the degree she really wanted. She was willing to compromise and pursue a general science major but it wasn't going to be what is truly in her heart. It's all good. She gave this process her absolute best and she earned an LOA to NAPS, the medical waiver thing is completely out of her hands so we are super proud of her.

Thank you for posting this! Plan B + waiting will be a balancing act but happy to have the chance to be teetering on that balance!
Don't know if this has any meaning or not, but my DD (appointed to NAPS in April) just received an official email from NAPS about the upcoming academic year. What I found interesting was that the email had 193 recipients. If NAPS usually has about 250 students, then there might be another 50 or so yet to be appointed? I assume as of today there are 193 appointments.

Well let's hope that means they are going to pull a good amount from the waitlist๐Ÿคž

I sure hope you're right! I like that interpretation.

I'm a glass 1/2 full person, so I'll take the interpretation as positive. Just reading the tea leaves has me thinking the outstanding are applicants with waivers. Then also USCG and enlisted. Hope they are all included in the 193.

Were there any military email addresses in the group? Current enlisted may have received their own group email or been notified by different means.

I see 3-4 military emails. Couple of them are in the same NAPS group chat that I am in. However, not all the appointees received the emails, which means 193 is just the ballpark
