I haven't seen anybody report NAPS appointments, which leads me to believe that a few of us who are CPR may have NAPS in store for us.

Additionally, I have a question about NAPS: does NAPS have the same DoDMERB requirement as the academy? I was medically DQed, do I still have a chance to get a waiver?

I’m pretty sure it’s the same requirements and if it’s a waiverable condition that you can get one. I’ve had two kids go to Naps so if you need questions I can try to help!! Go Navy!! [emoji631]

DoDMERB requirements are the same for all of the service academies and ROTC branches. There are cases where you might see the USNA and NROTC use different criteria for granting waivers, my personal (uninformed) opinion is that NAPS would use very similar waiver criteria as the USNA as the NAPS mission is to prepare midshipmen for success at the USNA. It would not make sense for NAPS to provide a waiver for a condition that is not waiverable for the USNA.

Well. All the Kids graduating from NAPS funnel into the Yard in Annapolis ... So, I would say the Medical Standards are no different. And I would say that the Kids have to follow the same Waiver process as Direct Appointments ... Our daughter got a Medical Waiver right after receiving her Appointment to NAPS on January 16th.
.
Btw - There are few kids (15 or more I would say on this site) that have reported appointments to NAPS already. So, if you use the 10% rule of posting on this site relative to the actual, you may be able to get some idea where the Critical Mass is for NAPS offers of appointment.

@Dr. Strange Love who is that in your profile picture? just curious

Robert Johnson ... The late Blues guitarist ... @THParent beat me to it.

Music is the "Center" of everything in our family, my wife's and my upbringing ... My wife and our daughter are Classical Pianists, and our daughter is an accomplished cellist too. My wife is the Piano/Organ center piece of Service/Choir at our church. Our daughter will back her up when my wife is away, for whatever reason. Now that she our daughter is moving on to NAPS then USNA, the Church will have to find another backup, or do without on some weekends.
.
I still play guitar, but my fingers are starting to fail from Rheumatoid, unfortunately. Playing helps to suppress it some.

There are about 20 kids that I know of that have gotten naps including myself. It is really hard to find others that have but I’m sure there are more.

I certainly recognized the king of the Delta Blues. My DS is a fine slide player.

Colleges, and especially the Naval Academy, can get Stuffy …. It would be wonderful if all MIDNs could play instruments, sing and perform musically …. Gigging is fun and great stress reliever on downtimes.
