Greetings,

I was recently offered an appointment to NAPS for the class of 2018 (which of course I accepted) and would like to see who else out there will be attending NAPS with me!

thanks,

NMCandidate

Congratulations! You have been accepted into an incredible program. My son is a member of NAPS 2017. Your class will really begin to take shape in the next week or so as USNA football recruits sign National Letters of Intent. Many will be assigned to NAPS 2018. A NAPS 2018 FB page for Parents Only and another for Midshipmen Candidates Only will be established within the next week or so. Will keep you posted.

Would you mind listing your stats? @jhl2021
Sometimes stats aren't the reason people get into prep school, some come from competitive districts and because you have similar stats with someone that got offered NAPS doesn't mean you too will be getting a NAPS offer.
Let's say 3000 CANDIDATES are not academically Q'd and in that number some have nominations and most do not, USNA usually has about 250 at NAPS. Which means that NAPs is just as competitive to get into, so getting NAPS is a lucky game because no one really knows what their chances are at getting the offer and especially when USNA also uses it to get their recruited athletes to gear. Which means that if you are not a really good athlete your chances are slimmer and the other non recruited athletes that get in cut the eye of the admission board or have other things that make them special.

Yes, but I would get in touch with your recruiter a month or so before graduation. Most recruiters have never processed a NAPSter and need guidance. It took my DD several trips to the recruiter before her swearing in.

If offered NAPS are you suppose to take the ASVAB or you just do your paperwork and swear in?
