Congratulations to you and your son. NAPSters get amazing opportunities -- if you really are a jarhead, you'll be as dazzled as we were that our son's NAPS graduation ('07) speaker was Colonel John Ripley (just a year and a half later, son was @ USNA for the colonel's funeral there -- check it out on youtube, but grab a few Kleenex first).
Our son also had terrific academic prep @ NAPS, which allowed him to waive the dreaded plebe chemistry, which later contributed to enough credits for selection as one of 20 USNA grad's to enroll in the Voluntary Graduate Education Program (VGEP). He's now working on a master's degree @ Johns Hopkins Univ before his "real" active duty begins w/ the USMC.
NAPS is an extraordinary avenue to USNA. I hope your son enjoys it.
