Many years ago, I was a Marine guard officer at a NWS and from the looks of it, these Navy Security Forces did everything right. We used to put these two man units at all the entry gates and charged them with maintaining security while managing traffic on and off base. They were the first line of defense and we relied on them to make good decisions within split seconds. They lived by their general orders, training and hopefully, common sense. We had several situations where I marveled at the restraint, judgement and actions of young 17-18 year olds in life/death situations. I made it my obsession to make sure that they were trained well and ready to do what was necessary.

This situation in Texas really brought back a lot of memories. I am sure the Navy Security Forces have the same procedures and training. From the looks of it, these guys handled themselves well.
