hope everyone had a happy holiday! with the NASS application opening in a couple of weeks, i have a couple of questions. I do not know which scores to put on my app. I am not all that happy with my SAT scores; 630 Cr and 530 math. I am taking the SAT again on january 23. should i use my current SAT scores or use my PSAT score of 160? if the january 23rd scores are better, is there a way to update those scores on the NASS app? any help would be appreciated!

As stated above you can wait. You are correct the portal opens in a few weeks but they don't hand out invites to the first in line. Not sure if your PSAT is complete here. I believe you get three scores. Two that rand 160- 760 and the third (total) that ranges from 320 to 1520. They switched at some point.

i wudnt suggest it. submit your initial scores and if ur jan scores are higher you can just email ur RC and ask him to update it. i did the exact same thing (submitted psat then took january exam) and one day after I emailed my RC with my Jan score (didnt even send it through collegeboard yet) i "miraculously" got accepted into NASS

I would only submit those scores if they can be updated when you improve them. I just don't remember if that's possible or not. Not sure how I can forget something that happened only a year ago- but I have!

my mistake, the psat score i posted was from last year's psat; i do not get the new psat results until next week!

Your CR likely puts you in the mid-50 zone. You math is low but you are a Junior and have time. Some math subjects you may not have been exposed to yet and you have plenty time to improve. Remember NASS also counts as your initial application. Can't hurt to wait a week and then pick your best scores and run with them.
