NASS acceptance and denies

I was accepted into session 1 early this month - from north Texas. I have other friends who applied, and I don't believe they've heard back either.

I feel like they've already accepted who they want and waiting to send out the rejection emails all at once:/

For the tests scores for PSAT it asks for Math, Reading, and Writing, but the PSAT website there is only a Math and Reading/Writing combined score. Can someone please help me out?

West Point is taking about 1000 SLE attendees, and they are still sending out acceptances. USNA are taking over 2000 NASS attendees. I have a feeling USNA will be sending out NASS acceptances until the middle or end of April. So don't give up hope. Also, you could be wait-listed.

Perhaps there is a BGO on this forum who knows the current status of remaining slots for this year's NASS?????

Navyafgirl don't give up hope! NASS applications haven't even closed yet! I spoke with a USNA grad at a forum in Houston several months ago and he told me that as far as admissions go, it's more important to the Academy that you applied to NASS than that you actually got in.

Keep in mind, Summer Seminar is more of a tool used to appeal to potential candidates that may not know much about what the academy life is like. It is in NO way influential on whether or not you get into the academy next year, in fact the two have nothing to do with each other. Summer Seminar is simply designed to give those that are on the edge of whether or not USNA is for them a real life experience.

Well how does the academy know who knows what its like and who doesn't?
They don't. NASS is basically a recruiting tool - they want a spread of people geographically and other parameters (we don't know the details of). That is why there are BGOs - to make sure you know what it's really like. They can give you a wider picture of academy life. If you don't get in, brush it off and move on - keep your eyes on the real goal of USNA.

Best wishes.

As a reference: Last year, my DD received her NASS acceptance email for the 3rd session on April 10th.

BGOs are not part of the NASS selection process, nor do we have any idea how many slots are still available.

I was accepted to 2nd session on Tuesday. I got a congratulatory email with payment info. However, I asked to switch to session 3 and they said that I'll get another email this week for my payment. That being said, there are still slots as I wasn't wait listed for session 3. Hold onto that hope
