NASS Acceptance

Great news, everyone. I remember how excited we all were when my DS was accepted last year. NASS cemented his decision to go as well. He came back PUMPED, and he is a pretty mellow, judicious fellow. A year later, we're just waiting for I-Day! Keep working hard, juniors!:thumb:

Ha, well I meant 2 years ago I guess, wow time goes by fast, my son is nearing the end of plebe year! It has gone by faster than I thought it would. DS says USNA is the best decision he ever made. Enjoy this time, plebe summer will be long but it will come to an end! DS is looking forward to being a trainer at NASS, hope you all enjoy your experience!

Just curious for the people that got accepted -- did you get the week that you requested?

Any from...

all states so far are far south, east coast and California. Any from the midwest, great lakes, central regions?

I requested either session one or session three, session three being the one I was accepted to.

I got accepted to Session 1, but all I remember is that I put I was available all three weeks. Too bad I'm already going to SLS that week :/

Call USNA or USMA. It may not be difficult at all for either of them to move you to another session. I took an Amtrak between USMA and USNA, and had an awesome two weeks.

I received my letter of acceptance to NASS on Friday. I was so surprised because I wasn't expecting word for another month! For those of you have not heard back yet, don't worry. The application window is still open and there are still spots. One of my friends who recently received an appointment for class of 2016 didn't find out she was accepted to NASS until nearly the last possible time. Chin up and hang in there! If you don't get accepted to NASS talk to your BGO about a Candidate Visit Weekend or "Drag Weekend".

I also got accepted into NASS for session 3. I live in Annapolis, Maryland if that matters. Just a quick question, I know the 6 digit number is my Official Candidate number but how do I login into the Offical Candidate Information System or (CIS)? I'm just ready to start applying as soon as possible. Any help would be great.

When you get your password later in the process. I sure someone here can give you an idea when that happened last year.

Normally the application opens up at the end of May or beginning of June.

What to bring

I was just accepted as well. What will I need to bring? I know they supply clothes, but I mean like water bottles or notebooks

FYI ~ I just read an article in the Navy Times about NASS. As of March 5, 2012 approx 5, 400 juniors applied as of that date. There are 2,250 spots for NASS 2012.

I see that some juniors have been notified already. Congrats to all of them so far!!
Does anyone know if more juniors will be notified this week? Just curious how they send out the letters.

DS received his acceptance letter last week for the second session. We mailed it the first week the application opened.

Last year, I got my acceptance letter in late April, after a little ordeal involving my inattentive father, the trash bin, and some fishing. Consider this wait a preview for the long wait you'll go through next year.

The Candidate Information System is probably still set up for the Class of 2016 right now. Last year I was able to log onto CIS after NASS Session I ended (June 10 or 11, I think).

Just received the acceptance letter today, I'm attending session 2. Who else is going to session 2?

I started a facebook page for all of those who applied for NASS 2012 a few months ago, and now that acceptance letters are going out I figured I'd invite y'all to the page. We've talked about nominations, CFA, NASS, etc. It's a place for the Class of 2017 to talk about the steps of the USNA application process and preparation for both NASS and USNA.

Here's the link for the facebook page:

Thanks, and Congrats to those who have received their acceptance letters!
