NASS Acceptance!!!!

Did anyone get your NASS session change ? My DD requested her session change on the same day (last Friday) that she got accepted but she hasn’t heard back. She’s anxiously waiting to hear back so that she could plan for all the travels.
My DS was in the same boat. We sent the request in to change sessions the day after he was notified of his acceptance. 3 business days came and went and no word. I called admissions today (6 Mar) to inquire and they confirmed he was switched. I said he never got a confirmation email, but that is a moot point now. However, today marks the end of the 10 day window from which he had to accept or decline the offer...hence the reason I called.

My DD finally got a email on Friday which indicated that she was switched, but when she clicked on the link to pay the fee, it still showed the original session. She emailed them right away to ask if she should pay because they did mention somewhere to not pay until the session is switched. Hopefully she will hear back from them today so she can make a payment and plan her travels.

Annette,

You should be just fine. My kid was in the same boat and I called admissions and informed her the payment info screen showed him in Session 2. She said to not worry about it because that website had yet to keep up. She confirmed he was in Session 3.

I hope that helps.

Thank you. We didn’t realize yesterday marked the end of the 10 day until you mentioned about it. So we went ahead and processed the payment last night. My DD and your DS are in the same session 3.

Are NASS invites wrapped up at this point? Meaning if you haven’t received one by now is it fair to assume you didn’t get accepted? Heard they send out declination emails, but wasn’t sure if that was the case.

If you are asking about Candidate Visit Weekend this is no application. CVW is offered by invitation only, and to be invited you must submit a Summer Seminar application and it is up to Admissions to who gets a CVW. To my knowledge it is too late to receive a Spring CVW invite since CVWs start this week. Although you can still be invited to a Fall CVW the fall of your senior year.

If you are asking about Coast Guard AIM, the application is still open until April 1.
You don't need to apply to summer seminar to get a CVW invite, I got mine like a week after I filled out the "request information" form and before I even started my NASS application

It's way too early to rule out getting accepted, applications don't even close for another month and I believe this is just the second wave of acceptances

Curious, any NASS accepted folks who have also been invited to CVW's yet? Wondering if it's one or the other right now or if some have both.
I got the CVW invite as well as NASS acceptance. Will be there the 24th of this month.

My DD just found her acceptance today (it was buried in her junk email box since the 24th), unfortunately, she won't be able to attend due to a conflict with Girls State. Hopefully, her slot gets reallocated appropriately.

I would suggest trying to reschedule NASS. My son also has a conflict with Boys State, and is trying. . .Folks on the thread say it is possible to change weeks.

Sorry for the late reply, but NASS invites are, to my knowledge, not wrapped up yet. They should notify all that applied by April 15.

Just wondering, are other candidates for NASS that have already submitted applications, still getting reminders and invites from USNA to attend zoom sessions to complete the summer seminar application? We are beginning to question if our application was actually submitted. We can't find any confirmation emails.

Lastly, any other acceptances since early March?

We are in the same boat. Other than a CVW invite and an Inspire declination, radio silence. Not being negative (we are big on being realists) DS has already pretty much assumed he is not being invited to SS and has moved past it. He applied the 2nd day apps are open, and being that 1 April is Saturday, fair to say he didn't get selected.

DS was accepted and is still getting reminder emails to submit an app or attend info sessions on how to submit an app. . .

Yesterday and today DS, who was accepted and has sent in all info/payment, got emails about not paying. Then, another email that the first email was an error. Then another email about the error and that if you haven't paid you'll be contacted individually. I think they're still trying to sort out, possibly, open spaces.

Same! Did you DS attend CVW? We were there last weekend, and it was a great experience (minus the rainy weather). I really don't know what to think anymore.

We did attend, DS had a blast. We try to keep everything in perspective. As one of the Calculus professors (A Marine no less, Jarheads teaching Calculus?) told the drags, when are you coming here? Not if, when. I have worked in imposing this attitude in DS for this admissions journey.

My DS submitted in January and not a peep. I actually asked him today if he recalls any confirmation. Nope.... From what I remember from my other two DS submissions years ago... They both got declined yet a Candidate Number was established and both of my boys opened up their portal and begin their portal application. I believe that was mid-April. Just to give you some comfort.... both of those DS did get an Appointment and never got USNA STEM or SS. They both applied for everything. So nothing lost if you don't get into USNA summer STEM or SS. Simply applying for everything is what is important.
