NASS acceptances

Yea even though they don't have rolling admissions they probably send some out early so that they can get people who may deny acceptance....I just got mine today but I got West Point's SLE a couple weeks ago and that's my SA of choice and I'm booked for the same week so I think I may not go....

Congratulations to all that got in. DS applied first day possible, so obviously his application should have been reviewed. Still hoping he gets in, but hard to miss out on the first wave. Hope they don't drag out the declines until May.

Well congrats! I found my answer. I just haven't applied yet because I'm waiting on the SAT scores to come in. But I already got into USAFA SS so I'm not stressing

Not stressing is great, but do you have decent PSAT scores? You could use those to apply for NASS. January SAT results are not released till 23 February...

Where did you hear that? Because their application closes in March so that would contradict their own statement of not rolling admissions.

Not trying to defend them, but they never said that. They stated:

The application is NOT first come, first served. Please gather all of the required information before applying.

If you can swing it in terms of your availability, contact admissions to ask to switch due to "an unforeseen conflict". If travel and funds are tight, ask for the needs-based financial aid by sending an email summerprograms@usna.edu for an application.

Don't wait! Act now before the other sessions are filled. Good luck!

Yeah same I applied the second day so I am assuming they reviewed my application by now. Really hope I get in on another wave

Well I had 1370, which is good, but at the time more kids in my school were getting better scores so that freaked me out. So I used those for USAFA and told my parents I would wait for my SAT scores to come back. But no issue, I'm going to USAFA SS. So like I said not stressing, just hope I can say the Same this time next year.

I wouldn't worry I'm assuming the next wave will be early next month, because I'm assuming they know there's people like me waiting for the January SAT scores to come back. Just got to wait it out. Just be glad that you didn't get a denial either and your still being considered.

Don't worry. My son didn't hear until April. He's now a happy Plebe.

Same here. DS#1 didn't hear until late April last year. DS #2 heard yesterday. So acceptances will roll out steadily from now until May.

NASS is the biggest summer program among the SAs. I believe they accept over 2000 students. So hang tight and hope for the best.

My son was decided to apply to NASS when we visited there mid-March over spring break (very late in the game!). At the morning briefing they stressed that applications were open until the end of the month. He could only apply to one session due to conflict with Boys State.

He submitted his application on the last day of March, wait listed the end of April and admitted early May.

He loved NASS and his primary interest changed from USMA to USNA & he's been appointed to the class of 2021.

Just a question as I am confused seeing at the deadline isn't until March and the application clearly said this isn't a first come, first served process. My DS is still waiting for his guidance counselor to give him his ranking (reports cards for first semester weren't done until 2/1 - and they are still trying to get all the transcripts done). He will be applying next week, but it seems like spots are already being given. Is this because those application candidates had such great grades, SAT scores, leadership, etc?

I think it's both. No, it's not first come, first served because they will not run out of spots before everyone gets a chance to apply but if they see a good app from a desired region of the country the week applications are open, they will offer a spot and lock them down.

That makes sense - thank you.
