Hey guys,
So I may have a problem on my hands. I play lacrosse in CT and last year we made sit to the stars and the season didn't end till June 14th!! I really desire to attend the summer seminar, but any team is very important to me, so would the best thing to do is apply for the latest session, and go to it if the season ends before? Can you opt out if you are in championship?
Thanks

Recently NAVY seems to have become substantially more flexible with selectees for NASS and their session assignments, so don't let that be a major concern. Also if there is a conflict on the horizon, you might want to consider a sports camp (see www.navysports.com/Camps) or shoot for a Candidate Visit Weekend (CVW). The big concern, candidly is to give the candidates and prospects a Naval Academy experience.

Hi there!

My son applied to summer seminar and was accepted. He plays lax in New York. Timing was also difficult for us with regents and playoffs. We have won the state championships two of the past 3 years. We were very concerned. We contacted USNA about a week before playoffs when we knew there was a conflict. The first person who answered the phone said he wouldn't be able to attend. I spoke with a local BGO and he told me to call back and request to speak to a supervisor. When I got through, USNA was awesome!!! My son was supposed to arrive by noon on June 7th in Annapolis. His lax state championship game was at 1 in Long Island. They allowed him to arrive at 11 pm and made accommodations for someone to come out and meet him. Their sentiment was that NAVY is all about athletics, competition, and being part of a team! If you don't have exams that interfere with later dates, which we do in NY, I would suggest picking a later date! Do what you can to try to make it work. My son LOVED it and 100% assured him he wants to attend USNA!! Still waiting to here about an appointment!

Good Luck! Go NAVY!
