I just got back from Session 2 of NASS, so if anybody has any questions about the experience or what they should expect if they are going to Session 3, I'd be happy to answer them.

Echo 43 is and will always be the best squad.

1) Wake up at 500-530, depending on what day. Do PT (they call it PEP), come back, shower, and have breakfast. After breakfast we had classes until we stopped for lunch break around 1200. We continued classes after lunch. After all the classes were over, we had briefs for admissions, character development, etc. We usually ended up going back to the rooms after the briefs. We had dinner at around 1700-1800 (I don't remember the exact time). Dinner was followed by squad leader time, which usually meant intramurals, a tour around the campus, or just taking a nap. The platoon would gather up at around 2100 for something (I was still a bit sleepy from the naps so I don't really remember it that well). At 2200 we would have Blue and Gold and at 2230 it was lights out.

2) The food is typical southern food. I liked it better than West Point's food but the food at USNA is typically less healthy in my opinion.

3) Naps. I took so many naps there and I think other platoons did too judging from the silence on the deck. I memorized all the rates and I had nothing to do. I brought my ACT book with me and I did some practice tests there. We did make a skit and take a tour around the campus.

Miscellaneous: I lost a lot of weight from SLE, gained some weight from NASS. The CFA at NASS is better because it is in a nice, air-conditioned gym. The PT was not that difficult (hardest part was the 4-count flutter kicks). Getting to meals was a battle: not enough tables meant that squads were running down to Bancroft in order to claim a table (it's actually typical during the academic year of USNA too).

I agree with what liger98 said, his description of the day is for Monday and Tuesday with the classes being an hour and fifty minutes (it sounds long but all the professors and instructors I had were interesting and there were a lot of hands on activities). On Sunday, we had optional Church services in the morning (movie if you didn't want to go), and then attended a couple briefs and did different activities with our squads/platoons/companies. On Wednesday, we woke-up at 0530, had breakfast, did Sea Trials until 1400, had a few minutes to shower and then had indoc. Afterwards, we had time to prepare for leaving the next day and continued to do activities with out squad/platoon/company.

Also, like liger98 said, the food I actually really enjoyed and as far as the PT goes, as long as your in decent shape and willing to fight through some burn then the workouts are not a problem.

Just to add, there's a lot of briefings too with the admissions counsellors, sports coaches and platoon leader (I don't know if everyone does, but ours did)

Adding to the food, it was decent when considering the quantity they have to cook for, as being southern food I would have to disagree as I come from the south. There is hot sauce provided though so I loaded it up on all my food to get flavor.
