Anyone know approximate number of Apps vs. the 2250 accepted? I should have told my sons to print out their apps to see what info they submitted but, forgot.
The worst scenario, one is accepted for NASS and not the other, one is academically stronger, the other excels athletically.

Also, is there a breakdown of those accepted each year by state?

I've not heard USNA indicate the number of apps. Anecdotally, the number goes up each year. I've never seen it broken down by state.

IT's a summer camp ... essentially, high level and perhaps more intense ... but it's not the same as acceptance into the academy ... though, I hope they give some geographical consideration ... we're from out west and our younger son hopes to go!

My apologies, I misspoke, I meant state demographics for acceptance to the Academy, not NASS.

I was already told that for NASS the western states are much lower due to travel costs.

USNA posts the number of USNA admitted students from each state . . . somewhere. But they don't post admission rate per state that I've ever seen.

The fact is that the most competitive states typically send the most mids to USNA.

LOL, I like that. It's refreshing to see someone admit they can't do "something"!

Not a big deal, I was just curious. I would suspect the more densely populated states have a greater number of admissions, in general.

I would guess that too ... because it takes (usually) a nomination from a member of Congress ... and larger states have many more reps to nominate people ... the flip side is smaller states may have fewer applicants so it may be a bit easier to get that nomination ...
