I applied to NASS in early February and I still haven't heard anything. I heard that a few people have been accepted on here, but I'm just wondering if not hearing anthing so far is a bad thing.

Thank you.

You're not alone. I know of several who have been accepted, mostly who applied early. I applied about 1000 on the first day. I havn't heard anything either but since only the first round of acceptances has gone out and the cut off isn't until mid-April I'm not in panic mode yet. I think my problem is that I don't TECHNICALLY play a varisity sport (it's complicated) and I think that hurt a lot. I also forgot to put my GPA which is high and my AFQT score which is 4 points from the highest percentile. I also realized I wrote down the wrong PSAT scores and short changed myself by like 10 in the math section. All and all I'm confedent with my application so I'm not worried yet but if I don't hear something soon I might start to worry.
Does anybody know how many rounds of acceptances go out before the rejections or any insight into the details of the process. [Like the AFROTC scholarship reviews you twice before you are rejected and there are 4 boards total, any those sort of things]

How did you know that their are "rounds"? I never heard that before.

I think she was just asking if there were rounds of admission, because the AFROTC scholarship process works that way. As far as I know, the NASS process does not have rounds of admission, but other people on the site might know better

Yes I just ment that I know AFROTC scholarships have rounds and since some people have been accepted and it's early March but the offical statement is that notices don't go out until mid April implies they will make selections more than once.

Also note the registration is still open, meaning that there must be more than one round of evaluatuions.

Cole-

My daughter applied for NASS one week after the registration opened. She heard via USPS today. She is in for the 3rd session (the only one she put down that she could attend). Hopefully you will hear soon.

My son finished his application on 29 Feb, including the sports questionaire. He received the notification of his acceptance into the 3rd session on Tuesday, 25 March -- we remember because our ears are still ringing from the screams when he opened the letter.

Still haven't got mine.

Congratulations to your sons and daughters that were accepted.

If I may ask... Midmomof2 and RaptorDad: Do you happen to live close to the east coast? I have a feeling that the people finding out now are people that live relatively close to the USNA.

Hmmmmmm...

Seems like all of the folks that have gotten their acceptance are going to the 3rd session.....I left it open on my application hmmmmm am I just giving myself false hope?

I have not heard anything either...I put down that i could not attend third session....maybe your onto something....

Also, i live on the East Coast

I know I was hoping before the end of the month....I applied to USAFA SS as well and no news on that front either....

My son is from VA and only could attend 3rd session. He got that. He applied mid Feb and found out 1st week of March.

I could only attend the 1st session due to an overseas trip... No matter, we'll see what happens. C'est la vie! :thumb:

Still nothing.

Parents probably threw it away or something. Or worse....

Semper-

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days....we are from North Carolina.

Shishka, I spoke to admissions a couple of days ago and what they told me was that the people who applied to only 1 session would be getting/ got their letters of acceptance/ decline first and then they would be sending out the rest of the letters on April 1st for those who said they could attend any of the sessions so rest assured, we should be hearing shortly. Good luck!
Respectfully,
Kathleen

So I stated that I could ONLY go to session one... Still no acceptance/non-acceptance letter yet, so I'm not sure exactly how thats working.
