I have already confirmed it was not a scam by several officials, so now the question is, how will this benefit me?

Has anyone gone through the program and used it on their applications?

Was it effective? How is the program like?

It isn't a scam in a sense that they don't take your money. However, it is not as prestigious and selective as the fancy papers they send you incline. Basically, if you have the money to pay for it, your in. I was nominated for the same program recently. It will do NOTHING for your collegiate resume.

Maybe you'll learn something, but it's not worth the money you'll spend. I've received a "nomination" or "invitation" for this and others like it - they go straight into the recycling. It probably won't make a difference in a college admissions decision between you and someone else with the exact same credentials.

It seems like it's similar to the "sports ambassador" program and the "who's who" books you can pay to be listed in.

We have received buckets full of this sort of thing. Passed on them. My sense was that they were business ventures for the promoters of the events.
