Hi there. New to this, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience or advice that might help. My son was lucky enough to receive an offer to play football for the Naval Academy, although it came very late this year. He had several other D1 offers, including Ivy league offers. Navy is where he wants to be but we are concerned whether or not he will make it through the medical process. He had 2 surgeries on his left knee for patella dislocation, last one was in Oct of 2018. He has played football since with zero problems, no pain, etc. From what I have read, however, it looks like 2 or more patella dislocations (even though they were due to same issue and the final surgery fixed it permanently) is a disqualification. What is the realistic likelihood of a waiver being approved? The problem is he committed to Navy and turned down the other D1/Ivy offers. The medical process hasn't even started yet, we haven't been sent the medical testing info yet, and my guess it will be March or later before we know if he will get in...by then it will be too late to contact & accept the other offers as they will be gone. Again, he wants Navy, but its somewhat of a unique situation here due to the timing. Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
