Lucky you, I'm missing a week to attend the Air Force Academy's. Unfortunately, that is also the reason I am calling tomorrow to decline my USNA SS spot...hopefully someone very deserving snatches it up!

our last week is just semester exams, because of AP i only have to take like 2 semester exams so id be able to miss it pretty easy im guessin not the samwe for you

School is out by the end of May in our end of West Texas! Good luck to all of you attending SS. My son attended last summer, his Dad joined him for a few days following. It cemented his desires to attend USNA. Anchors Aweigh!

I am missing school for both AFA SS and NASS. 3 days for AFA and finals week for NASS. It's not too bad, though, because mostly I will just be missing testing, which I will make up the week I get back. It is worth it!
 
I'll be taking my finals early to attend SLS (missing the last wk of school)...hopefully straight to NASS after that. then for sure to USAFA SS. then a week home and back to USNA for crew camp! So excited!!!

Yeah, I'm also in AP classes so I technically would not be missing all that much. Two weeks is still crazy to miss though, especially with the week I come back being the last week of school. Good luck to all the Summer Seminar participants!
 
Called USNA Admissions office today to check on my status....they said my app. still has not been looked over.

What does this mean?

I applied Feb. 1st at 8 o clock A.M. How have they not reviewed my app. yet? :frown:

i applied feb 1st 8 am. they just told me that they're making final selections and that i will be notified by april 15th!!!!!

i thought admissions were rolling?!?!?!?!

Where do you live? Summer Seminar participants are selected on the basis of where they live and their oppurtunity to visit the Academy as well as from areas not usually very well represented in applicants to the Academy. So theoritcally if it came down to someone who lived in maryland or someone who lived in oregon the oregon person would be chosen.

but i've heard through the grapevine that someone else in my area has already been selected.

it feels that NASS weighs geographic representation more heavily than USMA SLS and USAFA SS (as I got into both of those, and numbers wise they're more "competitive")
 
i live in MA...not a conservative state who welcomes military by any means. (for the most part :shake:)
 
well idk there they have had a record number of applicants, but remember wether you get into NASS or not it doesnt mean you wont be accepted into the Academy.

i'm going to usna summer seminar #3!
i'm pretty excited, but i'm also really nervous,
does anyone know what the boy:girl ratio is? and some inside info would be awesome,
i read all the brochures and online info, but i don't know anyone personally who's actually gone to this, i actually didn't think i'd get accepted, so if anyone has anything to offer, like something that might surprise me, that would be great!

Hey Academy Questions....I'm also in socal and I didn't hear yet....i guess the only thing we can do is wait...are u got AFA SS?
 
yes i got into USAFA and USMA SS

hey maybe i'm totally wrong, but were you at David Dreier's 26th District mtg in La Verne? the person who signed up for USAFA info above me had an email address incredibly similar to your sn. haha just caught my eye...
 
I have yet to receive a notification of the status of my application. Would living in Illinois have anything to do with it?
