sounds awesome! I'll be at the second session! I can hardly wait! I had a friend go last year, and he told me that the experience is something you'll never forget and that he would do it again if he were able to.

hmmm...I'm pretty sure i wasn't there that early. there were already a good amount of ppl when i got there. haha its so funny that we ALMOST met each other ;) I'll pm you

how and when did you find out? email or mail??
i'm not sure if this was directed to me?
but i received my notification the end of march in a letter.
i got a big packet with lots of papers to fill out: medical power of attorney, what to pack/how to prepare, a media release thing, and t-shirt size forms.

and i got an email from john meise on march 5 to quickly notify about my selection.

ok thanks, yet dw, it was a question for you! : )

it seems that march 5 date has been the only email wave...hmmm

STILL WAITING. admissions said by April 15. so only 8 more days of running to the mailbox (for now haha)

Just got my package yesterday. It says that I have to have the paperwork back in by the 15th or my slot will be cancelled any given to someone else. That makes it seem like some people may get notified after April 15th

I put my application in on February 1st the minute they opened up. Still haven't heard a thing from the USNA and I'm starting to get worried.
I E-Mailed the admissions office and have gotten no response.
I guess being a Life Scout and being a student pilot doesn't hold much weight with them.
Has anyone got any acceptance packages recently?

JMPille - Why are you so quick to judge the Admissions Office? Of course they are going to consider your Life Scout and student pilot.....why would you think otherwise?

Still haven't heard in 6th District of Illinois.

Son becomes Eagle Scout tonight. BSA High Adventure trip has been cancelled so he is now available for all sessions (not just the two he applied to). Any reason to let Admissinos know about these two events? Could it help?

I would let them know. It can't hurt his chances. I mean, I'm not active in scouts of any kind, yet I still got in. I'm just EXTREMELY active in my school and community, and I think that was enough to catch their eye. To notify them of his success in scouting will show them that he willingly gives back to his community.
So yeah, let them know. You never know if that would make the deciding factor on whether or not he gets in.

Updated NASS Application

I sent them an updated NASS application approximately two weeks ago via email but did not get a reply. I guess it is par for the course considering their many applications received. I haven't yet heard about NASS acceptance either. I was accepted to the other seminar which I applied to, but I would love to be able to attend NASS just as much. I know the feeling of an empty mailbox!

I just figured that being one of the first people to send an application and with things most others don't have like a pilots license I would have heard from them by now. I guess I'm just anxious from waiting over 2 months for a response.

JMPille, Wait until you turn in your application... that's brutal- the saying that every one says "hurry up and wait" has just started. And by the way congrats on the license, I have mine too in a PA28-181/ G and scouting is definitely impressive. So be patient! They are still trying to finish up the class of 2013 and get our permit to report packages out :) I have been waiting like I said since December :)

I am from Coon Rapids, Minnesota and have been accepted into Session 3, I am so pumped up for it .. I can't wait, although I would have also liked to go to the AFA SS as well

My son turned his application in about 30 minutes after the 2008 application became live on the website. He didn't get the invitation until nearly the end of March...granted, he didn't have a pilot's license but did have a lot of other things going for him. I wish you all the best! Like USNAhopeful, we're still waiting to hear on an offer for the class of 2013, despite being tripled Q'd since December. Patience is required!
