IT was a nice ceremony. Vice Adm Carter had a very storied career and received a lot of help from his wife. I enjoyed meeting him a couple of times and appreciated his dedication to the Mids.
Good luck Vice Adm Buck.

DD plays on the women’s hockey team. I told her that, after the Supe retires, she should ask him if he’d pass on his call sign to her. She respectfully declined.

I remember him as a plebe. They used to play hockey in Dahlgren Hall (when it had an ice rink) and Mids could drink beer in Dahlgren while watching the games.

The new Supe said that he would continue Vice Adm. Carter's goal to eradicate sexual assault at the Academy. I couldn't bring myself to believe that it was such a problem, until my DS told me after the end of his Plebe year that he had to offer his support for one of the females in his Company, who was a victim of it. My gut reaction is "separate them, prosecute them, and put them in prison, post haste", but all it takes is one allegation to be manufactured and you have someone's life ruined irrevocably. I don't envy them the task of sorting that stuff out, but I wish them 100% success, sooner rather than later. This crap has to stop. I don't care that USNA has a lower rate of sexual assault than other Colleges around the country. The Naval Academy should achieve a standard of ZERO, simply because it does not (and should not) compare to a civilian college.
