Does anyone know what the 2020 summer Navy NSI dates are?
Hopefully, since I don't think the scholarship is activated unless they complete NSI training, right? DS has mailed all his NSI paperwork in and was told the earliest he would know which session he is assigned is April.I think there was a thread discussing who went to NSI last year. If you are a 4 year NROTC, including MO, is it safe to say you would be offered a spot to 1 of the 3 sessions?
id call it more of a requirement than an offer if you are on 4 year scholarshipI think there was a thread discussing who went to NSI last year. If you are a 4 year NROTC, including MO, is it safe to say you would be offered a spot to 1 of the 3 sessions?
No. That wouldn't be correct. You would be REQUIRED to attend one of the three sessions, and it's possible they might tell you which one.I think there was a thread discussing who went to NSI last year. The only scholarship recipients that I'm aware of skipping NSI last year were SMC attendees.... but they don't review all the records with me so....Ok that makes sense. I thought I read somewhere that not all Scholarship recipients got to go last year. It sounds like with the additional session they are making sure there is room for all of the recipients. Thanks for the clarification.
Sorry @kinnem -I should have clarified -The only scholarship recipients that I'm aware of skipping NSI last year were SMC attendees.... but they don't review all the records with me so....
i believe i read that starting this NSI session even the SMC 4C mids will be required to attend. which is likely why there are 3 sessions versus 2.Sorry @kinnem -I should have clarified -
My son will be attending The Citadel, so that is what I also recall.
I was not aware of any funding issues with CORTRAMID. Is your son's friend referring to Sea Trials? Sea Trials had funding issues and many sessions were cancelled last summer.A friend of our DS who is a 2C right now, said last year she was not allowed to attend CORTRAMID due to funding issues, and has not attended NSI, only Scholarship Midshipmen (and even then not all of them) were able to attend.
