Make sure to put the NAVY/ AF game (CBS 3:30 EST) on your schedule today. Although Navy REPEATEDLY romps on the air farce, it is ALWAYS a great game. The Zoomies actually look good this year, and there is an underlying story as the rival NAVY/ AF quarterbacks also competed against one another in High School. The NAVY guy beat the pants off him then as well (35-7) but what can you expect?
Please note this is the Naval Academy section, so having a tiny bias is allowed. If you need to cheer for AF, check out the USAFA thread.
Cheer LOUD! GO NAVY!

So I guess we'll make this the "Sea Services" thread.
Coast Guard down by one point at the start of the 4th quarter. Great game so far with rain delay. Navy is coming on shortly, hopefully CG will be finished and victorious by then.

Go NAVY on CBS 1530hrs East Coast time

5 minutes to go, CG scores! 29-22 CG in the lead. 27 seconds left, CG intercepts! Will run out the clock. Go CG. Good start for the Sea Services.
GO NAVY!

HALFTIME!
Despite almost twice as much time of possesion, Navy is only beating Air Force 10-7. Air Force got a nice interception and huge 67 yard return run for the Falcon's only score.
These games are always great!
Go NAVY!

End of 3rd Quarter
TIED 10-10
Air Force catches a break as a Navy punt goes off course (only 22 yards) /out at the Navy 37 yard line.
Navy Stops Air Force at the 8 yard line.
AF kicks and 3 points brings them the tie.
Always a great game!
Go NAVY!

Navy is leading 13-10

With 03 seconds remaining in the game...

AF kicks a field goal. SCORE TIED 13-13

OVERTIME!

OVERTIME! Tied at 13 Navy 13 Air Force at the start of overtime, great game!

*edit*
Beat me to it, ha.

Scared?
I can say this with a LOT of authority.
because I graduated from Navy.
because my roommate was on the team
because I know many Grads.
SCARED isn't even close.
Scared?
I was DYING! I felt PAIN! AF had consecutive 8 plays within the NAVY 20 yard line in overtime!
Scared?
If you were scared, you showed more bravery than I.

And THAT is why the Service Academy Games are so great and so hard to call. They are always close, no matter the stats going in.

Go Navy!
Beat Army!
Fly away little Zoomies, fly!

Even though Army lost the last two, they look real good this year and this new coach is doing well, both games were lost on "new" mistakes. I predict a good Army/Navy game this year.
Go Army, beat Navy :thumb:

The game was awesome!!! The plebes were so into it and were making as much noise as possible!!! :) HOORAH NAVY!!! :)...

Honestly, I hated Saturday's game. Neither team wanted to lose, so neither team played to their full capacity. It was like watching a horrible high-school game as they constantly ran it up the middle for a gain of no more than 5-6 yards at a time. I think we ran the option once and passed for no more than 33 yds, which, even though we're a 'running team' is low for Dobbs. It was just an overly-cautious game...and I was bored to tears until the last three seconds.

Look at the Ohio game and this one and I don't see the same team playing. Still...I'm not worried about Army.

I agree with DMeix,

the game was ho-hum until the end of regulation play and the OT victory. It seems as if Navy is running a Power I offense, and giving it way to often to the first man up the middle. It is a sad state when an option offense quarterback gains 90 plus yards on the ground. I think Dobbs keeps the ball WAY TOO MUCH. He has proven he can throw, and thread the seams - he should open it up a little bit. It seems Navy is way off pace for their history of leading the nation in offense for four out of five years. But I'll bet Dobbs gets himself 1000 plus!??? I say share the wealth and let the backs run the ball outside.
