Immediately after the Navy win over Notre Dame today, the USNA AD accepted the Bowl bid. All the info is up on the Navysports website: tix, schedule, package, info. Hotels and other tour groups have just been waiting for Navy's 7th win to get their info up on the web. You'll see if you google Navy at Texas Bowl.

For those of you new to the Bowl drill, there are pep rallies, big tailgater for the mids, area Parents Club tailgaters, Alumni Association chapter events, local Navy active duty and Reserve involvement. Party, party! :shake:

Folks usually donate enough money to pay for mids' game tix; the how-to is on the website. Mids will get the info about how they can get the donated tix.

BZ to Navy football and all the mids who invested a weekend to travel to Notre Dame - everybody looked great on the big screen today. A HUGE win.

Will they still play in the EagleBank Bowl?

Oops never mind I found my answer: No. Army will play.
New question, however...
If Navy lost to ND, would they still play the EagleBank Bowl and Army would be out?
In other words, what is the pecking order of Bowl games?

I think (very important verb) the deal was that Navy had an invite to this particular Bowl if they won 7 games. ND just happened to be #7. It could have happened the week before, but Navy lost that game at home. Or if Navy lost to ND, then there would have been a chance to win #7 at home against U-Del coming up. Navy has proven its ability to sell tix, a key factor, all over the country, from the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco to others in various places. One of the pro's of being an independent with drawing power and a winning season - bowl promoters know they can make some money. Navy will earn a nice chunk of change from this Bowl opportunity for its varsity athletic programs.

Midn going to TEXAS BOWL

A few questions.....my Midn is flying down to Houston Dec. 30 to watch NAVY sink Mizzou (he'll have tons of friends on the Mizzou side of Reliant Stadium also)in TEXAS BOWL on Dec. 31. He's told me he got a " Midn-rate" at the Westin-Galleria....

1) does the Westin offer an airport (HOU) shuttle ?
2) what are his transport options on getting to the stadium on game day from hotel ?
3) will there be a NAVY tailgater at stadium for primarily Midn ?
4) will there be any "organized" post-game activities/New Years Eve parties set-up to include "under 21" Midn that he should be aware of ?

GO NAVY beat ARMY ...and then on to SINK MIZZOU:thumb:

greeneagle: Your mid got an email detailing all of this. Except maybe the shuttle. Mine forwarded the email to me. Details about tailgates (they get a ticket for themselves and two guests, etc.) Let me know PM and I will forward to you if necessary.
