DW is all over setting up a trip for Sept. for C2 parents week and I see a Navy Home Game against Memphis that weekend.

So far, DW and I have used The Columbias Day weekend to head east to visit DD. It's been Great for all of us. I highly recommend this for West Coast Plebe Parents. Even if its just a one parent visit to lower costs. It's a great "Look-Forward-To-Date" for a West Coast or Fly Over Plebe pushing through from August to Thanksgiving or August to Christmas. Our first trip was requested by DD in 2016. We had such a good time, we did the same trip in Oct 2017.

Back to my question. We've really enjoyed attending a USNA football game for these autumn visits, Huston in 2016, USAFA 2017, (we are good luck for Navy). For these games I've just hit a the usual ticket sales sites. For this C2 weekend game I am wondering if I should do the same, or is there a C2 parents section kinda thing set up by USNA that would have me buying tickets from a USNA site?

2nd question (just came up):
DW is now looking at setting up a commissioning week trip!! (no kidding). Would those who know recomend booking a place in Annapolis for the Week (close to USNA), or could we plan a couple of days in DC followed by a 2/3 days in Annapolis?

Note: I know this board is for admissions stuff, but the "Brain Trust" I look to for guidance on this stuff seems to principally reside here.

WAIT! One more.
I am thinking about a "JustDad" trip to Colo Springs on Oct 6th USNA vs USAFA, (UW is at UCLA so I don't even miss home game). If DD travels via movement order to the USAFA game, what costs does that cover for her? Is she required to stay with the Brigade in Denver/Colo Springs, or could she put in a CHIT (sp?) to hang with Dad when not at the game; "sleep in a real bed" sponge off me a restaurants Etc.?

Thanks, and yes, the dog proof read this post.

Ok, gonna reply to my own thread. I just dropped by the parents board (usually pretty dead) and found a thread on C2 weekend. I don't see my question asked there and the thread is over a year old, but if Mods want to move this fine with me.

As far as commissioning week, many local families rent out their houses for the week. It’s defi not too early to start looking. There’s a lot you can find if you just good “USNA Commissioning Week Rentals”

My family had a house a few blocks from the stadium for my commissioning week. It worked out great.

- Your 2C parents weekend packet should have info on buying tickets for the game, but you can also get them from regular ticket sales website or even the parents ticket exchange facebook page.
-For Commissioning week, are you talking about going to USNA for commissioning week the year prior to your mid's actual commissioning, or are you talking about planning your mid's commissioning week trip? If you are going during another class's commissioning week, you will find it difficult to find availability close in, and staying further out, DC or Baltimore may be your only option. Its not too early to start planning your Mids Commissioning stay. During your mid's commissioning week, there are events going on pretty much everyday, so you'll want to stay closer to Annapolis the entire week. We always arrive on the Saturday or Sunday the week prior to Commissioning, and depart the following Sunday. Commissioning is on Friday, and its really really nice to have that down day on Saturday. We book through midsrent.com or vrbo.
- For USAFA vs USNA game, they are usually responsible for working out their own lodging, so she shouldn't have any issues staying with you, she just has to have you lodging info on her request. Some years they have flown a movement order to the game, other years they have the mids make their own flight arrangements and are reimbursed later. Even if she doesn't make a movement order, (sometimes they are limited) she can put up a chit to go to the game, in which case she would be responsible for all costs, but could certainly stay with you.

Thank you, falconchic88! One question: When is the 2/C parent packet generally mailed out? In the summer before 2/C year begins, or at the very start of the ac year, after the 2 for 7s are signed?

You should get it the spring of youngster year. I think we rcvd ours in April last year.

If she gets on the movement order she will probably have to stay in the USAFA dorms. If she pays herself then she can probably stay with you.

Try some of the rentals (Home Away always worked for us) or hotels on the east side of the Severn and over the bridge. They can be a lot cheaper than DC or Baltimore if you can't find anything in Annapolis. You can never start too early.
