Navy ROTC NSI Travel Orders

One problem for me is that I got a new eye prescription and haven't gotten glasses yet, and of course now it is too late. Hopefully I can use my contacts at NSI...

I did read somewhere contacts were fine but that there may be a couple things where glasses would be of benefit. Contacts were not noted as excluded. I will see if I can find that info someone shared for you.

@abbyad01 I'm pretty sure you need to have glasses as contacts will not do for some evolutions. I expect your old prescription will get you through NSI.

Has anyone received the travel voucher with their orders? My DS only received his orders from his unit. Seems to be a mixed message on some units providing the travel vouchers pre-filled and some not mentioning them at all...

My DD is waiting for a FedEx today that her unit coordinator sent her tracking on last night. It was the 1st she had heard from her unit on topic. It was noted it would contain her travel orders and additional information. She was instructed to call upon its arrival to confirm receipt. It must be signed for.

She leaves Monday. We are dropping her off Tuesday morning for check in.

I still don’t have travel orders. I got a flight itinerary?

Have you contacted your unit coordinator? It’s our understanding they are to be point people.

Our DD’s formal travel orders came via FedEx Express and arrived Friday afternoon and needed signed for. We are dropping her off and have a 10-11 hour drive to Chicago leaving early tomorrow morning. In any event, in that express envelope were 5 copies of the travel orders, all of which need hand carried to check in. There wasn’t much else in the pacakage, however. Some units have supplied more preparatory information to their candidates which has been shared in this thread and the other thread on 2019 Indoctrination so our DD is planning using some of that helpful information if you want to check it out too.

Do you have your meeting point info for OHare etc? That is also captured in a screen shot attachement within these threads. I’d be on the horn to the unit coordinator straight away early tomorrow morning if not before, though likely they are not in their offices today, Sunday.

I got an email with my flight information.

I don’t think you are alone in not having rec’d the travel order paperwork based on this thread and the travel order thread in this forum. You have a flight booked and will meet at the designated location at O’Hare so they know you are coming. Good luck and have an awesome experience. I am so proud of all of you. You have worked hard to get here and have bright futures ahead.

Do you know who needs to provide sickle cell test results for NSI?

The administrator of DS contingent asked DS to provide results or have the test taken with a deadline of June 5, 2019. The request was made like June 1. He had it taken and emailed. Same email instructed DS to hand-carry immunization record and sports physical to NSI2

They tested block 1 at NSI. Mandatory for all. And if no meningococcal proof of vac .... candidates also got that vac there.

Quite a few people tested positive for sickle cell. Those wearing red wrist bands are positive.

Thanks so much SWB1972 and Torero_dad for responding. My daughter has not been instructed to be tested for SC and is headed to NSI cycle 2 on Monday.

My daughter does not yet have her Orders nor packing list for NSI cycle 2, but she will be en route Monday regardless!

I hope they do not use FedEx for my DD's orders, because it is usually one day delayed where we live. Oh, well. She'll figure it out!

Ask her if she can figure out a program contact to call. Also, ask her if she has looked in all email accounts and spam folders, DS orders came from a civilian admin's account, not the officer who sends other pieces of information.

There is a huge folder with NSI1 information.

My DS got an email with the travel itinerary from Sato and some instructions of what to bring. He inquired about travel orders and the administrative assistant from his unit stated that she does not believe students get actual orders to NSI. He was told to bring his physical, shot records, any prescriptions, $200 on a debit or gift card, the flight itinerary and clothes for one day since he is flying in on Tuesday.
